Kenny White

Wizard of Odds

Kenny White learned the bookmaking business on his father's knee. By age 24 he was running a sportsbook and at 26 he was setting lines for Vegas' biggest casinos. A two-time winner of the prestigious Stardust Football Invitational, the originator of Player Power Ratings and the former head of the powerful Las Vegas Sports Consultants, Kenny arrived to SportsLine armed with new algorithms, ready to exploit mistakes in the betting line. He debuted with SportsLine in February 2017 and has gone 106-80 (57 percent) on college hoops ever since. For Kenny White media inquiries, contact SportsLine@CBSInteractive.com.

No I'm not worried about the hook. If I didn't think Notre Dame could blow out Pittsburgh I would not be laying 21 1/2. However I'm only playing the game because Ian Book is now the Irish QB and has close to 900 passing yards, and 8 TD to just 1 INT in his three starts. The real star of the show is the Notre Dame defense that ranks 17th in yards per play allowed but 10th in my ratings.

The Mountaineers are ranked No. 6 which will be on the Iowa State radar, however the Cyclones are a shell of last year's team. The Iowa State offense got a kickstart from true freshman QB Brock Purdy last week as the dual-threat QB ran for 84 and passed for 318 versus Oklahoma State, the Cowboys' bad game in three weeks. Iowa State has no running game so the Mountaineers will spy on Purdy and force him to pass. Last week Will Grier threw three interceptions at the goal line and they still won 38-22 but did not cover. It very easily could've been 59-15. Heisman hopeful Greir will be more focus this week.

Texas A&M is allowing 20.2 points per game but let's take out Alabama and Clemson. Monore (which can score) had 10 vs. A&M, Arkansas had 17 and Kentucky had 14. That's 13.7 points per game allowed. South Carolina lost 14-10 at Kentucky which is very similar to the Gamecocks. SC QB Jake Bentley returns after missing last week with a knee injury.

The loss to Ohio State had to sting and the NIttany Lions have been thinking about it for two weeks. Michigan State Mark Dantonio is 25-10 SU in his last 35 Big 10 road games and 22-16 ATS (58%) and 40-29-1 ATS (59%) in conference games over the last eight years. Michigan State has the No. 1 run defense in the country. Penn State QB Trace McSorley has been 50% completion rate or less in three of his five starts!
