Kenny White

Wizard of Odds

Kenny White learned the bookmaking business on his father's knee. By age 24 he was running a sportsbook and at 26 he was setting lines for Vegas' biggest casinos. A two-time winner of the prestigious Stardust Football Invitational, the originator of Player Power Ratings and the former head of the powerful Las Vegas Sports Consultants, Kenny arrived to Sportsline armed with new algorithms, ready to exploit mistakes in the betting line. He debuted with SportsLine in February 2017 and promptly went 51-33-2 (61 percent) on college hoops. He's destroying the books again in 2018. The Bulls will be playing without PG/SG Zach LaVine (worth 1.5 points), PF-Lauri Markkanen (1.5) and PG/SG Kris Dunn (2). This also means Chicago will be down to its third-string point guard, so I take an additional point off for a cluster injury. The Knicks have been playing three very young point guards and, since the loss of Kristaps Porzingis, are 2-13 SU and 4-11 ATS However, they have covered three of their past five games.

With the playoffs right around the corner San Antonio's defense has picked up. The Spurs had gone Under six games in a row until their last outing against Minnesota. Over the last seven games, San Antonio has allowed just 98.1 points per game, about 7.1 points less per game than the betting line indicated they would allow. Golden State is without Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. The Warriors are also 7-2 Under their last 9 games.

We have two top-25 offenses that make their way on offense a little differently. Davidson is one of the most efficient shooting teams in the country on two-pointers, three-pointers and at the free throw line. Davidson takes care of the basketball and always gets a good look and quality shots. Davidson put up 60 on Virginia, which only seven other teams were able to do. Davidson also put up 75 on North Carolina -- a similar team to Kentucky. Kentucky hammers the offensive boards and gets to the free throw line to create scoring. The Cats scored 86 and 77 in their last two games against well above average defenses in Alabama and Tennessee. Davidson's defense is just a little better than average, giving Kentucky a chance to be more efficient. Go Over.

The Sooners fall into the category of teams that do not belong. We know that we're going to get the Sooners' best effort. But let's not just count on effort; let's count on talent because that is what it's going to take. Oklahoma has wins versus eight top-50 teams and three versus top-20 teams. Trae Young is not just the best freshman in college basketball, he has to be in the conversation of having the best season of any player, period. The supporting cast has been there all year long with efficient scorers in Christian James and fellow freshman Brady Manek. Rhode Island has two wins versus top-50 teams but one came against Davidson, which beat them twice. The Rams will definitely compete but Oklahoma's experience against a more difficult schedule, and the fact that everyone is saying they don't belong, will help them prevail.
